Natural Gas

image of sunflowersNatural gas will increasingly become the energy source of the near future.

It is a fuel with the smallest environmental impact capable of also delivering power on the scale needed by humanity.

Western Australia is blessed with large resources of natural gas but is cursed by the tyranny of distance. However, technologies such as LNG production and subsea processing are enabling some of those resources to be unlocked and their value realised. 

Research has always played a role in reducing the vast financial and technical commitments needed to deliver such developments, and it continues to do so. The Centre for Energy has industry-driven research projects currently underway and more initiatives planned for the future.
